Carpool Board — Terms & Conditions

1. What the Carpool Board Is

The NOVA Carpool Board is a community notice board operated by NOVA Logistics, a voluntary group of parents supporting the logistics aspects of activities organised by the NOVA batch of MRSM Langkawi.

This board allows parents and guardians of NOVA batch students to find and offer shared rides to and from school.

2. Who Can Use It

The Carpool Board is for parents and guardians of students in the NOVA batch only. By posting or requesting a ride, you confirm that you are a parent or guardian of a student in this batch.

3. Posting a Ride

By posting a ride, you confirm that:

• All information provided (route, date, time, available seats) is accurate to the best of your knowledge
• You are the person organising or booking the ride
• You will notify requesters promptly if plans change or the ride is cancelled
• You will update your post status (Full / Cancelled) as soon as it is known, via the manage link or WhatsApp channel provided
• You will not charge requesters more than a fair proportional share of the actual cost (e.g. Grab fare divided equally among passengers)

No commercial or for-profit rides are permitted on this board.

4. Requesting to Join a Ride

By submitting a join request, you confirm that:

• You understand that submitting a request does not guarantee a seat — the poster must accept your request
• You will coordinate directly with the poster via WhatsApp to confirm all details
• You will inform the poster promptly if you no longer need the seat
• You will arrive at the agreed pickup point on time

5. Liability Disclaimer

NOVA Logistics is a voluntary parent group providing this board as a convenience to the NOVA batch community. We are not responsible for:

• Any arrangements, agreements, or disputes between posters and requesters
• Any accident, injury, loss, or damage arising from a shared ride arranged through this board
• Rides that are cancelled, delayed, or do not materialise
• The accuracy of any information posted by users

Parents are strongly encouraged to verify the identity of other parents before sharing a ride.

6. Safety

• Ensure the vehicle used is roadworthy and the driver holds a valid licence
• All passengers, including students, must wear seatbelts at all times
• Do not place more passengers in the vehicle than the legal seating capacity
• Students should only travel with adults known to their parents or guardians

NOVA Logistics reserves the right to remove any post that appears unsafe or inappropriate.

7. Privacy

By using the Carpool Board, you agree that:

• Your name, child's name, class, and the ride details you provide will be visible to other users of the board
• Your phone number will be shared with the other party upon a confirmed request, for the purpose of coordinating the ride
• Your email address will only be used to send you management links and ride-related notifications — it will not be displayed publicly
• Your data will not be shared with any third party outside of NOVA Logistics

Posts and requests are automatically removed after the ride date has passed.

8. Conduct

Users must not use this board to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent ride offers
• Harass, threaten, or act inappropriately toward other users
• Collect or misuse the personal information of other parents

NOVA Logistics reserves the right to remove any post or ban any user who violates these terms, without prior notice.

9. No Warranty

This board is provided "as is" by a volunteer parent group, with no guarantee of availability, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. NOVA Logistics may modify, suspend, or discontinue the board at any time without notice.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes shall be resolved under Malaysian jurisdiction.
