Ujian Setara 2, Semester 2 2026

Ujian Setara 2 starts on Tuesday 18 August. Ten papers for Form 2, two a day, done by Monday the 24th. Here's the whole week — save it to your phone, it beats digging out the PDF every time someone asks.

That's the easy part. The harder part is the bit nobody hands you a timetable for: what you're meant to do from home while your child sits through it a ferry ride away.

A few things we've picked up, mostly the hard way.

Exam days start at 7.40 and run to 2.15, so anything before mid-afternoon catches them either walking into a paper or trying to eat. Evening is when you'll get a real conversation instead of three words and a rushed goodbye.

And when you do get them — try "how did that one go" rather than "what did you get". It sounds like a small difference. It isn't. One of them opens a conversation, the other closes it.

Once a paper's done, let it be done. It's tempting to go through the answers together, and most of us have done it at some point, but it only builds dread about something already sealed in an envelope. There's another paper the next morning. Save the post-mortem for after the 24th.

By Thursday most of them are running on far less sleep than they'll admit to. The notes aren't going to get much better at that stage. The rest still can.

Watch Saturday evening especially. Sunday opens with Rekabentuk & Teknologi and closes with Fizik, straight off two quiet days — the steepest restart of the week. Whatever gets crammed on Saturday night usually costs more than it earns.

If your child goes quiet, send a short message rather than assuming they're just busy. Sometimes they are. Sometimes they aren't, and a low-pressure "you okay?" is all it takes to find out which.

Then on the 24th, let it end. Monday's the last paper, Tuesday is Maulidur Rasul. However the week went — and some of them will go badly, that's just what exam weeks do — the holiday should be a holiday.

One last thing. If you're the one lying awake at 2am running through someone else's exam schedule, you're in good company. Just try not to let it travel down the phone. Tell another parent instead. That's half of what this community is for.

A reminder that we're an independent parent group, not the school, and we don't speak for them. We've put the timetable here because it reads better on a phone than the original PDF does. If anything looks off against what your child's been told, trust the school's version — and drop us a note so we can fix ours.

Good luck to all of them. And to us.
